Storengy
On 1 March 2023, Charlotte Roule took the position of Chief Executive Officer of Storengy, the European leader in underground natural gas storage.
She will continue to develop and leverage the company’s unique expertise in the storage of renewable gases and the production of natural hydrogen, while accelerating its role as a leader in the energy transition.
As part of her significant roles, she will also assume the management of the storage business in France following the departure of its Managing Director, Pierre Chambon, who has just joined ENGIE. Charlotte Roule was hitherto ENGIE Group Strategy Officer. In charge of long-term forecasting, strategic dialogue, and competitive intelligence, she participated in the review of major projects for the company. Before joining the Strategy Department, she managed Storengy UK and ENGIE in China where she coordinated projects focusing on renewable energy, clean solutions for cities and industries, such as cooling networks and electrical mobility.
She was Vice President of the European Chamber of Commerce in China from 2018 to 2021. Now, she represents the Chamber in Paris. Moreover, she is currently a member of the Board of Directors of France Gaz (formerly Association Française du Gaz).
In 2022, Charlotte Roule accompanied the President of ENGIE in his role as co-chair of the B20 (G20business group) Energy, Sustainable Development and Climate working group.

Martin has more than 20 years of management experience and a deep technical foundation primarily from the management of specialists, project managers and technicians from various production and project companies.
The employments include C level experience and managing high level budgets including workforces of approx. 100 FTE and in general focused on Plant / Factory management including O&M and project fulfillment.

Doug Waters has worked in the international energy industry for over 20 years across many areas of the business, both technically and commercially – including almost 18 years at E.ON and Uniper.
Starting as a gas turbine specialist, he then had a number of roles in Power Generation, UK Energy Trading, Asset Management and Global CCGT Fleet Management in UK and Spain. In 2015 Doug and his family relocated from Madrid to Dusseldorf, Germany, where for the following five years he has been the Director of Uniper’s international Global Energy Services business with teams in India, Dubai and Singapore as well as UK and Germany. Since November 2020 Doug Waters is heading the gas storage operator Uniper Energy Storage and leading Uniper’s successful storage business into the future market environment.
Doug holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birmingham University, UK and an Executive MBA from ESMT, Berlin, Germany. He is a Chartered Engineer in the UK registered with the Engineering Council and holds a UK NEBOSH Construction Certificate as well as having qualifications related to commodity future and derivatives.

Managing Director, TAQA Energy, Netherlands
René Zwanepol has been the Managing Director for TAQA’s activities in the Netherlands since July 2015. He oversees TAQA’s upstream activities, which include oil and gas production as well as future CO2 storage, and the Midstream business with Gas Storage Bergermeer, Europe’s largest open-access gas storage, and the Peak Gas Installation.
René holds degrees in Law and an MBA from IMD in Lausanne. Before joining TAQA, he spent most of his career working for Royal Dutch Shell in the energy business in a variety of financial roles mostly outside the Netherlands in the Americas, Africa and the Middle East.
He is the chairman of the Dutch gas storage association, VGN, and an Executive Committee member of ElementNL, the Dutch oil and gas producers’ association.

Anna Slavkovská is a senior expert on regulatory issues focused on EU and Slovak national regulation. Since 2009 she is in a role of leading regulatory lawyer at NAFTA a.s. – a storage system operator active in Slovakia, Austria, Germany, and Czech Republic . In December 2022 she was appointed as a managing director of NAFTA Speicher Inzenham GmbH – a storage system operator in Germany.
Besides being focused on regulatory issues and providing support in this respect for storages within NAFTA group, she also closely cooperates with NAFTA´s commercial department giving her an insight into practical business needs of gas storages. Moreover, she is also deeply involved in NAFTA’s decarbonization projects in various fields e.g. renewable electricity production, hydrogen storage and biomethane.
Anna is also a member of IGU (International Gas Union) Storage Committee focusing on the area of storage regulations and an active representative in GIE within GSE column from 2009. Starting 2023 she is also a member of the GSE Executive Committee and a member of the GIE Board.
