"The chemical industry uses natural gas both as feedstock and #energy source: continuous gas supply is essential! Gas quality is key. #Biomethane could be an interesting option to reduce carbon emissions and increase consumption of #renewable energies" @NicolaBXL, #GIEOpenDoorLab

"A timely discussion today at #GIEOpenDoorLab. What we need to keep in mind is that 35 bcm of #biomethane is only a first step for 2030.
By 2050, we foresee a massive boost in the production with up to 167 bcm produced by the #renewable gas sector"
@DekkerDee, @European_Biogas

"Homegrown, #sustainable and affordable #gas?
Let's look at #Biomethane: Europe has a huge potential for production and gas infrastructure is a part of the solution. We can store & transport biomethane in a cost-effective way”
@EKolst, GIE Board Member at #GIEOpenDoorLab

"Electrons & molecules will need to team up. Let's make this transformation happen.
Good to see we have more than 4⃣0⃣ gas infrastructure representatives today: multiple voices on #biomethane bringing various perspectives to tackle this #decarbonisation challenge"

@TorbenBrabo

"This workshop is a good example of our members' determination to support the EU with its ambitious #mission.
Boosting #biogas to deliver 35 bcm?
We can do that by bringing cost-effective solutions to transport & store #renewable molecules"

@AchovskiBoyana, at #GIEOpenDoorLab

GIE Annual Conference 2012 | Kraków, Poland

24 May, 2012 - 25 May, 2012

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

On behalf of Jean-Claude Depail, President of GIE, we would like to thank you for attending the 10th GIE Annual Conference in Kraków, Poland on 24 and 25 May 2012 .

All presented materials are now available

The conference was co-hosted by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. , the Polish Gas Transmission Operator.

It offered the opportunity to meet other key gas players and discuss the most recent energy topics and latest news on gas infrastructure developments in Kraków, the old capital and one of the most beautiful cities of Poland.

This year’s conference gathered again top level representatives from the European Institutions, regulatory authorities, international organizations and the natural gas industry. We are convinced that the 10th Annual Conference took place at a crucial time for a high-level discussion on where today’s energy policy is going and to define the important role of natural gas, the infrastructure and new developments in the gas business.

A brief outline of the programme :

Day One, Thursday 24 May
Session 1 Gas Infrastructure, Energy Roadmap 2050 and progress towards the internal market
Session 2 A strategic view into the future: innovations and new technologies for gas
Day Two, Friday 25 May
Session 3 LNG Session
New challenges in an expanding LNG market
Session 4 Storage Session
Gas storage as a solution provider for sustainable energy markets
Session 5 Transmission Session
Walking together towards a harmonised internal market

We are looking forward to meet you next year in Venice,Italy, in May 2013!
