Unlocking Energy System Efficiency: The Strategic Role of Hydrogen Infrastructure in Sector Coupling

14 April @ 13:00 - 18:30 CEST

Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) was delighted to invite you to the launch of the GIE Sector-Coupling Study, titled Unlocking Energy System Efficiency: The Strategic Role of Hydrogen Infrastructure in Sector Coupling.

The event took place on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, at The Hotel Brussels, in Brussels.

Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) finalised its sector-coupling study together with the research institute Forschungsstelle für Energiewirtschaft and the consultants Consentec and ConGas. The study analysed the value of holistic infrastructure development, considering the most efficient use of electricity, hydrogen and, in one of the scenarios, gas infrastructure.

This in-person event presented the results of the study and the interlinkages between infrastructure, considering the most efficient use of electricity, hydrogen and, in one of the scenarios, gas infrastructure. The second half of the event looked at the needs of energy producers and end-users.

Venue

The event took place on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, at The Hotel Brussels (Boulevard de Waterloo 38, 1000 Brussels) from 14:00 to 17:30 CET, and was followed by a networking reception.
