Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) is pleased to invite you to the GIE Study Launch on Biomethane in the EU: How Current Gas Infrastructure Can Drive Future Energy Solutions. The event will take place on 30 April 2025 from 14.00 to 16.30 CEST at The Hotel, Brussels.
During this event, a new GIE study will be launched, highlighting the crucial role of existing gas infrastructure in supporting the scale-up of biomethane across the EU energy system. The analysis shows how methane pipelines and underground storage are indispensable to balance supply and demand across regions and seasons, particularly for heating and dispatchable power generation. The study also offers key insights for integrated energy system planning aligned with EU climate goals.
