Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) is pleased to announce the reappointment of Luis Ignacio Parada as President of Gas LNG Europe (GLE) for a second term. This renewed mandate reflects the continued trust of GLE members in his leadership and his strategic vision for the future of Europe’s LNG infrastructure.

Luis Ignacio Parada has served as GLE President since January 2024, steering the association through a period of major transformation in the European energy landscape. His re-election provides continuity for GLE’s strategic priorities, including improving LNG infrastructure flexibility, supporting decarbonisation pathways, and reinforcing Europe’s energy resilience.

Currently, EU Energy Policy & Regulation Director at Enagás in Spain, Luis brings more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector. His expertise spans energy economics, gas and hydrogen regulation, and policy development. He began his career at Gas Natural in 1998, continued at NERA Economic Consulting from 2001 to 2004, and subsequently joined Enagás.

Throughout his career, Luis has held key roles in European energy organisations. He has served as a Board Member of ENTSOG and GIE since May 2023, a Board Member of EASEE-gas since 2019, and an Executive Committee Member of GTE from 2020 to 2023. He holds an Executive MBA from IESE Business School, an MSc in Applied Economics, and a degree in Economics from the Universidad de Salamanca.

Commenting on his re-election, Luis Ignacio Parada said,

“I am honoured to continue serving as President of GLE. Over the past two years, we have advanced critical initiatives from promoting BioLNG and enhancing terminal flexibility to shaping Europe’s Ports and Maritime Industrial Strategy. Looking ahead, my focus remains on driving innovation and collaboration to strengthen LNG infrastructure as a cornerstone of Europe’s decarbonisation pathway. Together with our members, we will ensure that terminals evolve into multi-molecule hubs, supporting security of supply and enabling the integration of renewable and low-carbon energy carriers.”
