ApolloCO2: The first CCS hub in SE Europe
DESFA plans to introduce the “APOLLOCO2” investment, the first large-scale midstream CCS project in South-Eastern Europe, aggregating gaseous CO2 from local emitters in Greece through a pipeline to a centralized liquefaction and temporary storage terminal, from which the captured emissions will be transported via vessels to a permanent storage site. The proposed location of the liquefaction and export terminal is Revythoussa island, where DESFA’s LNG terminal is located and where the aggregated CO2 will be liquefied on the onshore liquefaction unit, while, due to space constraints on the island, the liquefied CO2 (LCO2) will be temporarily stored on the FLSU, which will serve as a temporary CO2 storage solution, while also offering back-up liquefaction capabilities.

CCS Baltic Consortium
The CCS Baltic Consortium project (Project) aims to significantly reduce CO2 emissions from Lithuania and Latvia by developing, the first in the region, a cross-border carbon capture and storage (CCS) infrastructure. CCS value chain, created by the Project, will be used widely in the region and will contribute to resolution of climate issues on a larger scale.
